Our Purpose

Promoting Livelihood in Our Cassadaga Lakes Neighborhood

We are homeowners, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, grandparents, doctors, lawyers, pilots, teachers, veterans, retirees, stay-at-home moms, families, business owners, your friends, and neighbors, and we all have one thing in common — we LOVE Cassadaga Lakes! We want this community to THRIVE. We hold ourselves to a high-standard of maintaining our businesses, our properties and our relationships with our neighbors.

The Village of Cassadaga Board of Trustees supported its updated comprehensive plan to support business opportunities that grows a healthy eco tourist economy for the community. Cassadaga has a wealth of opportunities to support a quality of life inseparably linked to its natural environment, which includes the lakes, tributaries, wetlands, trees, lots of snow, and green space.

CCBA is interested in helping existing or new businesses within the village and surrounding communities. Please contact us with questions or ideas. We can help connect you with local support services to help grow or start a business. Our commitment to each other, and our neighborhood is vital to our future economic success!

Working Together as Neighbors

Our Alliance has invested countless dollars and time into creating beautiful properties to share with our guests. It is in our best interests to maintain not only the properties themselves, but the relationships we have with our neighbors. We operate based on great reviews, so our properties and operations need to be kept up to higher-standards. Our goal is to make our guests’ experience AND our neighbors’ experience a positive one!

Our Guiding Principles

Our Alliance has committed to adhering to the following set of self-regulated and self-enforced guidelines. We depend on each other to keep everyone in check. It is in our best interests to do so. We also depend on our neighbors to let us know directly as soon as any issues arise, so we can address them right away. The Alliance wants our neighbors to know that we want the same things — a clean, safe, quiet, respectful, and friendly neighborhood experience in beautiful Cassadaga Lakes!

PROS

Short term rentals like Airbnb help struggling homeowners and protect a community’s character.

According to a Cornell University Case Study, the ability to rent one’s property — even in the short-term — may be a tremendous financial aid to struggling homeowners. It can help to avoid or at least mitigate instances of blight due to disrepair, distressed sales at below-market-rate sales prices, and even foreclosures. The case study concludes that allowing owners to home share can protect a community’s character and property values.

Homes could sell for more money.

In areas where STRs are accepted or encouraged, and neighbors aren’t hostile to it, a home with “rentable” features might actually sell for more money, according to some realtors.

We’ve discovered there are many reasons people decide to do this. For one, it can be a great financial investment and a way to secure a family’s financial future. Some people list their homes to sell, only to find them sitting on the market for months...even years. And there are other reasons such as financial hardship, divorce, death, marriage, retirement, new baby, new job, etc. Some people buy a house now but can’t actually live in it permanently for several years. Booking their homes for vacation guests affords them the freedom to do what they need to maintain their life comfortably. Having that right as a property owner is very important.

Congrats! We recommend you start by visiting VRBO.com or Airbnb.com. They have lots of resources on their website and they can answer a lot of questions you might have. You will also need to fill out this form for Chautauqua County. Cassadaga requires all STR properties to be registered and go through an application process. You can access that information here. You can also send us an email at: info@cassadaga-cba.com and we would be happy to assist!

If you are having an issue with a particular property/guests and you are having an issue getting ahold of the owner directly and/or you are not comfortable doing so, please reach out to us by emailing: info@cassadaga-cba.com and we can address the issue for you.

All of our partners have committed to adhering to a set of self-regulated and self-enforced guidelines. We depend on each other to keep everyone in check. It is in our best interests to do so. We also depend on our neighbors to let us know directly as soon as any issues arise, so we can address them right away. We want our neighbors to know that we want the same things - a clean, safe, quiet, respectful, and friendly neighborhood experience in beautiful Cassadaga Lakes!
